Thomas Fanourakis, a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts, nurtured his passion for art at the Archaeological Museum. In 1960, he founded the Fanourakis company in Heraklion, Crete. This family business quickly distinguished itself through its unique craftsmanship in goldsmithing. Lina Fanourakis, wife of Leonidas Fanourakis, played a central role in the house until her passing in 2006.
