Mappin and Webb

Mappin & Webb

Mappin & Webb, Founded in Tradition

Founded in 1775 in Sheffield by Jonathan Mappin, Mappin & Webb began under the name Mappin Brothers with the ambition of creating the finest silverware of the time. In 1860, the company, now called Mappin & Company, moved to London under the leadership of John Mappin, Jonathan's great-grandson. Two years later, with the arrival of George Webb, his brother-in-law, the firm became Mappin, Webb & Co. and opened its first store at 77-78 Oxford Street, London. The success was immediate, with a varied range including silverware, vanities, and candlesticks.

A Prestigious International Expansion

In 1890, Mappin & Webb expanded internationally, establishing boutiques in key cities such as Johannesburg, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Lausanne, Vichy, Cairo, and Bombay. The brand became a jewelry supplier for British and international monarchs, counting among its clients Marie Antoinette, Princess Grace of Monaco, and the Empress of Russia. Now part of Aurum Holdings Ltd, Mappin & Webb continues to produce refined jewelry and exceptional silverware collections.

British Luxury at Its Peak

Mappin & Webb is renowned for its unique style that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Its creations, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings in gold and silver, stand out for their elegance and sophistication. The house also works with precious stones such as emeralds and diamonds to create dazzling jewelry.
