In 1899, Georges Favre-Jacot unveiled the first Zenith pocket chronograph, marking the start of a long series of innovations. The brand distinguishes itself with its chronometers, chronographs, and clocks, accumulating accolades with no less than 2,333 chronometry awards.
In 1911, under the leadership of his nephew James Favre, the company was renamed Zenith. The firm continued to develop by creating wristwatches, pocket watches, and on-board instruments.
In 1969, Zenith revolutionized watchmaking with the launch of the El Primero, a series chronograph recognized as the most precise in the world. This model, the result of seven years of development and the work of 300 artisans, boasts an impressive frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. Zenith also holds the record for the highest number of movement variations and patents in the field of horology.
