New collection (2022) of Chanel 1932 jewelry: presentation
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bijoux de Diamants, the house has just unveiled its new collection of Chanel 1932 jewelry. The main piece in this series of 81 items is the Allure Céleste necklace.
Chanel 1932 Jewelry: A Tribute to the First High Jewelry Collection
The year is 1932. The European diamond sector is in crisis. Diamond dealers are struggling to survive the Great Depression. It was then that a brilliant mind had the idea of commissioning Coco Chanel, considered the most avant-garde female fashion designer of the time, to create the first high jewelry collection.
The result is Bijoux de Diamants. A collection of 50 pieces presented with a manifesto by surrealist writer and artist Jean Cocteau and photographs by legendary filmmaker Robert Bresson. Bracelets, brooches, necklaces and Chanel rings multiply the diamonds. Platinum and precious stones evoke the celestial path in all its splendor.
2022: The New Chanel 1932 Jewelry
This historical know-how of celestial inspiration inspired the Chanel 1932 jewelry. In 2022, 90 years later, the French house offers us 81 new pieces. 15 of which are transformable. The profusion of diamonds makes these jewels faithful to the originals. But they also feature sapphires, yellow diamonds, opals, rubies, spinels and tanzanites that project multicolored reflections on the skin.
Chanel Allure Céleste Necklace: An Exceptional Piece
The flagship piece of this 1932 Chanel jewelry collection is the Allure Céleste necklace. It takes the form of a moon composed of sparkling round diamonds centered on a deep blue sapphire of 55.55 carats. Its chain is topped with a five-pointed star at the clasp. A larger star that emits light in the form of diamond bars sits just above the collarbone. Finally, a comet consisting of an 8.05 carat pear-cut diamond of incredible clarity completes this exceptional Chanel necklace.
Just as our solar system is constantly in motion, so is this necklace. It can be disassembled to transform into several brooches, a bracelet, and a choker necklace.
